The Sauna Project Sydney: Terms, Conditions, and Risk Acknowledgement
1. General Acknowledgement
By booking or attending a session with The Sauna Project Sydney, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined in this agreement. By using our services or attending our premises, you (the "Client") acknowledge and agree to the following:

Medical Conditions
You must not use the sauna if you have any of the following:
Cardiovascular or any heart conditions
Diabetes, neuropathy, Parkinson’s, MS, or lupus
Joint injuries or insensitivity to heat
Infectious diseases, cold/flu symptoms, respiratory infection, or fevers
Eustachian tube dysfunction or pneumothorax
Hypertension exceeding 160/100
Severe untreated asthma
Seizures
Pregnancy
You must disclose any physical concerns to us prior to your first session. We recommend consulting your doctor or specialist before attending.
Mental & Physical Readiness
By attending a session, you warrant that:
You are in suitable physical and mental health
You are not under the influence of recreational or prescription drugs that may impair your judgement or ability
You understand what is required for safe and appropriate use of our services
3. Sauna Etiquette
To ensure the best possible experience for everyone, please follow these etiquette guidelines:
Arrive clean and sweat-free — shower before entering the sauna.
Enter and exit quietly and promptly.
Speak in low voices to maintain a peaceful atmosphere.
Sit on a towel at all times.
Avoid bringing or using fragrances, essential oils, or lotions that may affect others.
Respect others’ personal space.
Stay hydrated, but avoid bringing glass bottles.
No food is permitted in the sauna.
If feeling unwell or lightheaded, leave the sauna immediately and notify a staff member if necessary.
4. Cold Plunging in the Ocean
Cold plunging in the ocean is entirely at your own risk.
We do not provide cold plunge tubs or supervision.
There are no lifeguards on duty; always assess ocean conditions before entering.
Be aware that the shallow waters of Vaucluse Beach may attract stingrays. Shuffle your feet when entering the water to reduce risk. We take no responsibility for injury caused by marine life or cold water exposure.
5. Use of Devices
Electronic devices must not be used while utilising the services. Breaching this policy may lead to injury or disturbance to yourself and others.
6. Assumption of Risk
You acknowledge that using our services involves potential risks, including but not limited to:
Bodily injury or death
Property damage
Cold Water Immersion risks such as:
Hyperventilation, increased heart rate and blood pressure
Cardiac arrhythmias
Gasping reflex, risk of inhaling water
Cramps, muscle spasms
Hypothermia or frostbite from prolonged exposure
Panic attacks
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release us from any responsibility or liability.
7. Emergencies
In a medical emergency, where you are unable to consent, you consent to emergency treatment being administered.
8. Scheduling, Cancellations & Late Arrivals
You may cancel or reschedule your session up to 6 hours in advance. After this window, your session is non-refundable.
Late arrivals are accepted up to 15 minutes past the session start time. Missed time is not refundable.
9. Privacy
Your data is collected to manage bookings and payments. All information is securely stored. Payment details are encrypted using industry-standard technology. We do not share your personal data with third parties.
10. Policy Acknowledgement
By booking a session, you:
Acknowledge receipt and understanding of all policies and procedures
Confirm your physical and mental capacity to participate
Accept and assume all outlined risks
Agree to the terms of this Contract as defined in our General Conditions
